The Firm

H&A Associati is an italian architectural firm, based in Venice (Italy) and Shanghai (China), which employs over thirty architects and engineers. It was established from the joint venture between HYD Architettura and ArkaAssociati, combining their experiences and abilities.
H&A is a complex and organized firm able to satisfy its clients’ desires providing services with high quality standards. Our clients are developers and investors in real estate, government and public institutions, private clients and companies in the field of residential, retail, restaurants and hôtellerie. The firm can help his client realizing a strategy in projects development. H&A can support investors integrating architectural design with market and manage research. The firm has four branch offices: Architecture, Interior, Engineering and Restoration, Urbanism and Development strategy.

H&A has work on ambitious and important projects all over the world and has also won numerous design contests with many awards. H&A has ISO 9001:2008 quality certification.

The firm headquarters are located in a restored area of Porto Marghera, in a loft inside a building dating back to the 1950s, which used to be used for industrial purposes. The open space and the adjacent spaces house the designers’ work groups of architects and engineers. These groups develop various themes in the fields of architecture, urban planning and structural engineering, with a strong aptitude for teamwork and exchange of expertise.

One of the main strengths of H&A associati is its working space, playing a key role in the quality of the final product and in the group cohesion, which is considered an essential element in the design work.

H&A develops projects in different fields: Architecture, Engineering, Interior design and Landscape.

Architecture

H&A associati works in the sector of architecture since many years, and considers it as primary and strategic in its activity. Since the preliminary project up to the definite, executive project, the firm follows the different phases and supports the clients in stylistic choices and composition. The project is followed throughout its executive phase through the direction of works and the art direction, to be delivered the way it has been designed in order to meet the client’s expectations. H&A client base is both private and public, and also consists of investment groups, developers and hotel groups. The architectural projects are focused on the construction of new buildings and on complex restoration of monumental buildings in important historical centres.

RESTORATION AND RENOVATION

H&A associati has acquired a considerable know-how in restorations and renovations thanks to the many projects implemented in the historic centre of Venice, which were aimed to the reuse and redevelopment of important historical buildings.

Engineering

H&A associati has an extensive experience in the field of civil engineering for the realisation of even very complex projects. The firm works on the structural design of civil engineering works as well as infrastructures, structural diagnostics, evaluations of seismic vulnerability (which are carried out in compliance with the 2018 Technical Standards in the construction industry with the use of specific FEM softwares). H&A designs and tests wood structures and structures made of FRP composites. It is specialised in intervention techniques and adaptation of historic and monumental buildings.

Interior

H&A associati interior design team works since many years on a variety of themes, and creates innovative, tailor-made solutions based on the needs of the client. Interior design is focused on designing both commercial spaces (hotels, restaurants, stores, temporary exhibitions, museums) and residential spaces (villas, apartments and big private residencies). The project is followed since the early stages, supporting the client so that they understand the project through architectural illustrations and rendering. The follow-up continues up until the supervision of the construction process and the closing of works. In interior design, special attention is always given to the use of innovative materials, custom-designed furniture, and an in-depth study of the illumination system. In the field of design, the firm cooperates with some firms of international renown, including Artemide and Rubelli, for creating a collection of lamps and seatings which will soon be produced.

Landscape

H&A associati provides designing and consultancy services about architectural and landscape design, on an urban and local scale, with a special focus on environmentalism and sustainability. The planning concerns public spaces such as building complexes, cultural-commercial centres and private spaces, even when context-bound. It ensures the client is assisted since the early stages of research to the realisation of the project, engaging when necessary with relevant authorities. The project originates from understanding the site at different scales and confronting the variability of natural elements and of the environmental system. With the firm creative spirit, the project accomplishes the transformation to a more conscious and comfortable use of spaces.

Philosophy

H&A associati has always considered the “total project” as a way to find solutions to questions related to urban planning, architecture, interior design, and engineering.
