Contemporary Art Museum – Shanghai – China

Invited competition for the creation of the new contemporary art museum in Jianding, Shanghai.
The project interpreted the new volume as a natural fifth taking up the trend of the mountains of the Chinese landscape and their relationship with bodies of water. The theme of the plane and the void led the design study towards the concept developed with an advanced study of materials proposing in the main front a translucent metal mesh that recalls the texture of traditional objects made of straw and woven rushes of Chinese craftsmanship
